Visit from Our Longtime Partner, the Hiroshima–Çanakkale Association

Representatives of the Hiroshima–Çanakkale Association, which has supported the academic and cultural development of “ÇOMÜ Japanese” students since 1999, visited our Department. The visit included discussions aimed at strengthening future collaboration.

We were honored to welcome representatives of our long-standing external partner, the Hiroshima–Çanakkale Association, to our Department. The delegation included Mr. Hiroshi YOSHIOKA, Secretary General, and Mr. Harunobu INAGAKI and Mr. Toshiyuki TAKABATAKE, members of the Association’s Board of Directors.

Founded in 1999, the Hiroshima–Çanakkale Association has been dedicated to supporting the academic and cultural growth of “ÇOMÜ Japanese” students. Each year, the Association collects Japanese calendars from companies in Hiroshima and the surrounding area and sends them to our Department for the “Japanese Calendars Exhibition” held during the Japan Days event. These calendars are then shared with university students and staff through a free raffle. The Association also welcomes our students who visit Hiroshima annually, helping them experience various aspects of Japanese culture firsthand.

During their visit, the Association members paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Dr. Muzaffer ÖZDEMİR, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and held fruitful discussions on strengthening cultural ties between the two cities. They also attended classes, meeting with our students and faculty members to explore ways to deepen cooperation in the coming years.

We sincerely thank the Hiroshima–Çanakkale Association for their continuous support and collaboration over the past 26 years.
