チャナッカレ・オンセキズ・マルト大学日本語教育学科所属。修士&博士号(社会学)は熊本大学にて取得。オズシェン教授は日本語教育学科学部&大学院プログラムの学科長を務めていると同時に、同大学学術誠実研究センター(Center for Academic Integrity)の副センター長も勤務。なお、オズシェン教授は2024年7月から熊本大学リエゾン・プロフェッサーに任命されています

関心領域は日本文化&日本学教育、戦後日本社会、戦後日本の教育制度に加えて、近年はとりわけ日本語における学術的不正行為に焦点を当て、日本語教育における盗用&剽窃の検出と予防に取り組んでいる。最近、研究チームを率いて学術的日本語テキストにおける盗用を検出する支援ツールのパフォーマンステストに関する論文を発表しました。学術活動と並行して、20年間近く剣道に取り組んでいる。

Tolga Özşen is a full Professor of Japanese Studies at the Japanese Language Teaching (JLT) Program of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (COMU), Türkiye. He holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from Kumamoto University, Japan. He has been acting as the department chair of undergraduate and graduate JLT programs, and Vice Director of the COMU Center for Academic Integrity. Prof. Özşen is also officially acting as the Liaison Professor of Kumamoto University.

In addition to his main areas of expertise, such as Japanese culture and Japanology teaching, post-war Japanese society, and the post-war Japanese education system, in recent years, he has been focusing on academic misconduct issues in the Japanese language, particularly detecting and preventing plagiarism in Japanese language teaching. He recently led a research team and published an article on testing of support tools to detect plagiarism in academic Japanese texts. Alongside his academic pursuits, Dr. Özşen (3rd Dan) has dedicated nearly two decades to practicing Kendo.
